Friends School
During “Friends Week”, May 19 - 25, we are donating 20% of each Friends School candle sale towards Haddonfield Friends School historic renovation grant.
Our Friends School candle pays tribute to Elizabeth Haddon, a visionary Quaker settler who founded Haddonfield, New Jersey, in the early 18th century. Elizabeth’s deep commitment to faith, education, and community lives on through the Haddonfield Friends Meetinghouse, built in 1721, and the modern-day Haddonfield Friends School, built in 1786. Both institutions continue to nurture minds and spirits just as she dreamed centuries ago.
Steeped in history and rooted in the enduring warmth of community, it is inspired by the serene landscapes and old-world charm of early Haddonfield, this candle blends aromatic herbs, warming spices, lush greenery, and whispers of ancient woodlands to create a fragrance that soothes the soul and awakens a sense of belonging.
In honor of this rich heritage, E&3 Apothecary is donating 10% of every Friends School candle sale to Haddonfield Friends School. HFS has been awarded a matching grant from the New Jersey Historic Trust, but they need to match the grant by December 2025 to unlock the funds. Your purchase helps fund their vital initiative to restore and repair the original Friends Schoolhouse, preserving a cornerstone of education and Quaker tradition for future generations.
